Here is my solution to clutter and keeping/getting the whole house clean - HAVE COMPANY....OFTEN! Whenever we are having guests or visitors, I seem to be able to keep my house clean and tidy. It is magic how it works! All the piles of stuff get sorted and put away (or thrown away) and everyone does their part to clean up the house. Now if I could only have company more often....:-)

Very true, I think I need to start thinking of my own family as company.
I would agree with you that cleaning the house it`s not necessarily a burden but it can be an event full of joy especially if funny people join you. I prefer the opposite way as I rather send my family for a walk or shopping and I turn on my favourite music as loud as possible, probably that sometimes disturbs the people from the Rosedale houses, and I start the deep deep cleaning...
This is such a simple and often overlooked idea. It works for me, too. We used to have a couple of days in the week that we knew we had available specifically for company. That way, when we felt compelled to invite someone, we already knew what days worked for us. We've since gotten out of that habit, but hopefully we'll get back into it again soon. It's so much fun to have company over!
Its funny how well you clean the house when you plan to have people over. Its a great method to keeping your house cleaner and I love company too!
So true! For us it worked when we got a puppy. If my kids didn't want something chewed up it had to stay off the floor. Our floor has been amazingly clean for the last 14 months! Now we just need a ferret for our table, a cat for the kitchen, a rabbit for the desk . . .
I agree! If I have people over enough it helps keep things clean. I have had surprise visitors too that keep me thinking about what my house looks like.
I do have to say that sometimes I stress to much when people are coming and it makes me not enjoy it as much so I have to watch that.
