Recycled Shopping Bags

I have finally finished my first (because I plan to make more) shopping tote crocheted from WalMart grocery bags! It came out so great! And wasn't hard at all.

It is pretty roomy - holds a good bit more than a gallon of milk and would be great for frozen food since it is made of plastic! If you are interested in making something out of "plarn" (plastic yarn) and using up some of those gazillion shopping bags, check out My Recycled Bags. She has dozens of great patterns and ideas!

Your bag turned out wonderful. You're just going to love using it. These are so handy and quite the conversation pieces too. Thanks for mentioning my site and the providing a link.
Happy green crafting to you!

That is sooo cool! I had heard some rumors about it, but until your post have never actually seen it done. I think several families near me would be interested in this. I invite you to visit Mule Shoe Farm at http://muleshoefarm.blogspot.com/2008_03_13_archive.html
We had abbies last night!

Awesome! I've heard of bags crocheted from plastic bag strips, but never saw one. You did a great job!
